Well, you know it is going to be an interesting week when you ask one of your investigators if they have read the Book of Mormon, and they answer yes, then proceed to open to a random page and pick a favorite scripture. This time: Mormon 1:19. A verse about magic and witchcraft…so yeah. Needless to say, this one is progressing nicely.
It was a trying week for Sister Smith and I – we are having to work with some investigators who really are not progressing, which is one of the hardest thing. You just want so badly for everyone to accept the gospel! We also got yelled at by a family, which was a first for us. It was tough, but really, it just strengthened my testimony that this work is true, and my conversion has grown deeper. I know that the gospel is true, and the way to true happiness in this life and in the life to come. What a blessing to have this knowledge.
We had some great lessons with references from members, and are excited for the progress of these investigators. We also have a family of 11 that we are teaching, after our first visit, one of the sons had already read to 2 Nephi 19. We are seeing miracles in our work and in the lives of these people.
In other news, we had a few English-speaking investigators come to church yesterday, and I got to translate for some of the meetings. It was quite the language study! This week, our beloved District Leader is leaving, and we are all pretty sad. But all the Elders here are great and take really good care of us. I am including some pictures from today – our bowling P-Day activity. Elders bowling? Funny. We also are preparing for a District Conference this week – and Elder Cook from the Seventy is coming. I am excited for that.
Well, that is all the news I have for now! Thanks for everything! Love you!
